Advanced Installer is an authoring tool to create different types of installation packages for Windows. It is true that most processes involved in software development require certain expertise, and generating a program setup is no exception. However, this program can simplify this procedure with the help of its intuitive interface that also includes a wizard.

The application can create valid MSI setups for your applications. It supports a surprisingly wide range of project types, including specialized installers, Java, updaters, add-ins, merge modules, mobile apps and import.

The created packages provide several advantages over installation packages created by other programs. First, there is their visual quality, thanks to the availability of various high-quality templates. Second, they can detect older versions of the product to avoid installing several versions. However, if desired, the packages can also install different versions of the application that can be run on the same target machine. Third, they can also take care of creating, appending or pre-pending user or system environment variables. In addition, there is no need to worry about clumsy uninstallers because everything is ensured for removing all traces of the application, including files, folders and registry keys. Another advantage is that installers can be made to specifically support modern 64-bit processors. Finally, they can also include frameworks, libraries or any other necessary dependencies.

All in all, Advanced Installer is a very comprehensive tool. It covers practically all types of installations. It has an excellent graphical user interface and it even supports building installation packages from the command line. Unfortunately, though I edited the whole project without difficulty, the trial version did not allow me to build the installer.
