Advanced Installer allows you to create install packages. It uses modern technology to create high-quality application setup wizards that will take care of the whole installation process and will even manage uninstall options.
This application has a modern and user-friendly graphical interface. The tabbed menus show only those options that are associated with the type of install package being built. When you open the application, a welcome screen helps you select a type of a project from a comprehensive list including Installer, Java, Updates, Add-ins, Merge Modules and Mobile. Each of these are further divided into more specific types, such as .NET application, SharePoint solution, XNA game, among many others. Other options include importing a project created by another tool or using a custom template for your project. As creating an install package is a complex operation, the developers have provided wizards to guide you step by step through every stage of the multiple operations. This way, you will provide the necessary info like files, folders, shortcuts, registry keys, environment variables, database drivers, data sources and translations. However, you will always be able to return to the standard screen to fill in or changes these data.
In general, Advanced Installer is a very comprehensive application that does not leave aside any of the install necessities of software developers. In this regard, it provides a way to check for updates at the time of the installation. It also creates trial packages, which allows users to test the product before purchasing or to register it with a valid key. What is more, you can create a licensing mechanism.
Unfortunately, this excellent utility will be hardly affordable by amateur programmers and home users because it was developed with an eye to the entrepreneurial section of the market.
